The Most Common Symptoms of AnxietyWe read a lot about anxiety these days. Given the stress level of modern living, that is no real surprise. But what are some of the specific signs that someone may be experiencing a real symptom of anxiety that is leading to a disorder? Here are a few examples of anxiety symptoms that you should watch for in your life. Perhaps the most common example of a symptom of anxiety is an unusually keen focus on one particular area of one's life. For instance, if it seems that the individual is constantly worried about money, even while holding a good job and having money to cover monthly expenses, there may be a hidden anxiety that is about to grow into a full blown disorder. Be on the lookout for a common everyday worry that begins to take over all of a person's time and energy. Many symptoms of anxiety manifest themselves in the form of a physical ailment. Panic attacks are a good example of an anxiety symptom that seems to come from nowhere. Usually accompanied by a feeling of impending destruction, the panic attack can appear to be a heart attack to the individual experiencing the attack. With this type of anxiety, the pattern feeds upon itself, as the person begins to fear when and where the next panic attack will happen. Tension is another of the more common symptoms of anxiety. The individual may feel constantly on edge, unable to relax for even a moment. Sleep only comes when the person has reached the point of total exhaustion. Even then, the sleep is fitful and barely helpful to the person's overall health. This may be complimented with recurring headaches, especially after the insomnia becomes the common pattern. There are many other symptoms of anxiety. For more information, consult your local health care professional, or check out some of the excellent references to be found on national medical association web sites. And should you think that you are developing symptoms of anxiety, do not hesitate to see your doctor. The earlier your condition is diagnosed, the sooner you will be back to your old self.
